Was it a fake?!

So selling your ebay purchase - I realised this was going to be a difficult one as I had gone for the 'buy it now' option so selling for a profit if at all was going to be a problem...
Things got worse when I received the email pictured above which had me worrying that to top it off I had in fact been sold a fake as well which would then blacken my name as an ebay seller!
I battled on with the sale as I didn't have time to relist and didn't know if they were telling the truth either not being a mechanic myself...and it sold! There was even a very small bidding war at the end which push the bid up to £2.21 and with postage set at £2.71 the total was £4.92 only £6.79 short - Although not quite the profit I was after I ended up feeling relieved that I had actually managed to sell it - though slightly sad that I no longer own the first piece of my future car...

my online identity in a box...

I realised that you can waste hours on ebay when you don't know what you're looking for and when you do find something you want unless you sit there or log back on just before the 6d 23hrs is up you will no doubt be outbid.

I wanted to come up with something surprising and well I think I filled that part of the brief as I don't think this is an obvious choice...

So this photo is what I bought - it is me (or my online identity) in a box.

I suppose I should explain!?! After wasting a few hours of my life and firstly bidding using my old ebay account (where I was thankfully outbid!) I set up my new one and set about trying to buy something... you look through the weird section and then the ones that are ending soon and feel like you're looking at the same stuff - some weird, some just rude or offensive.

I wanted to find something that related to me or my online identity and started searching cassettes, 82, 1982, figaro, nissan figaro (clearly my £15 budget didn't allow me to buy the whole car).

Then I searched my exact online identity 'figaro82' and it came up with only one post.

This post also happened to be in budget coming in at £11.71

You could pay by credit card over the phone - which suited me as I needed to get it posted to me
And it was a 'buy it now' which was good as I'd been outbid many times before and time had got fairly short!

So this was my purchase - I now officially own the first piece of my Nissan Figaro... a Thermostat, Figaro, 82C, J1538000!

...my blog identity...

it's one of those things where you get asked about yourself which i always think is really hard...
do you go with how others see you, how you preceive yourself, something personal but then you don't want to share that much with people you don't know that well...

but then you don't want it to be to obvious.

The long and the short of it was that i decided to merge a few of these ideas to come up with me identity.

Nothing too personal

Something my friends remember about me - quizzed my housemate for this one who i've known since i was 13 - she remembered me making lots of mix tapes at school and cassettes linked in with our love of all things 80s especially movies...

something not many people know about me - i want a nissan figaro!

and then something generic - the year i was born...

that's how it all came together really and is now my online identity
it tells you somethings about me yet not too much which is quite what i'm like too...
